Recorded at home in Bermuda, all on solar power, The Jasmine Flower is an album full of her trademark songwriting – deeply emotive and melodically beautiful, the songs are haunting, dark and uplifting all at once. The production is minimal – just Heather, with her shimmering, soulful vocals and a guitar, with some strings (the popular UK Raven Quartet) appearing on a few tracks. Heather made her name in Europe in the early 90’s promoting a rocking live album called Blow that ushered in the era of ‘Chick-Rock’ two years before artists like Alanis Morissette or Sheryl Crow had released albums. Twenty years later she is still writing and touring with the same passion, outlasting her contemporaries. Warner. 2009.

We have these pretty Jasmine flowers in our yard, but it’s only in a small section. Smells so good! Spring is almost here 🙂

Another month down! Congratulations to everyone who has finished February! I realized that so far, I’ve improved a little bit with my photography but I think if I’m realistically going to finish a 365 – there will be some days where a picture will be just that: a random picture, maybe something to document what I did during the day and I’m okay with that! I’ve heard of people who skip days here and there but focus on creativity, but I don’t think I can do that. I think it’d be cool to at least finish for the entire year – even if it’s just to remember significant things that happened throughout the year. 🙂
